Part One: Phantasms Alien To Our Experience.

"To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow,

The encyclopedic catalog of the commonplace can be said to be hiding in plain sight inasmuch as there are many pages of this proverbial reference book, we need not consult inasmuch we assume their unchanging nature will remain as it was as the stealth of sleep descends upon us in the twilight of our awareness, of location, of aim and notwithstanding, ourselves. Perhaps to the contrary, there is significance in the muffled sounds of noise and fury we approach as if in a waking dream.

In a previous post entitled "Invictus," we explored the rarefied and disturbing view an extraterrestrial may come upon when exploring our own transparency within both ourselves and our creations which has most definitely, from a certain uncomfortable position has all the characteristics of a phantom world.

In this post, we shall place the shoe on the other foot.



The energetic atmosphere that slowly fills our the lungs in the descent of our metabolic rate, within the slow autonomic pulse of sleep, also slowly unshackles itself from the radio waves, car ignitions, conversational chatter and the general signal noise that invisibly accompanies our activities. Silence also descends over the void of night and in the space that remains, as the surface of this atmospheric ocean calms itself from the eddies, ripples and currents of activity, something stirs, something rises in this calm, to go forth.....and as Mr Sherlock Homes would intone,now the game is afoot and it is time to set the stage for our univited guests.

On the night of November 12, 1976, at the Travera La Real Air Force base on the Spanish border, two patrol sentries were observing an intense bright light when simultaneously, a sharp and extremely loud whistling began. Strong bursts of wind in an extremely localised form began to intermittently gust around them. They sent their assigned canine into a bush where apparently the source of the sound was arising from only to have the dog stagger back as if drugged which then proceeded to circle them, as it had been trained to do should any threatening event occur. The two military man turned to view a softly glowing green mist, from which appeared, a humanoid figure not fully formed...

On the night of March 17, 1978, Ken was driving home along the darkened roads at 11:30 pm when suddenly a jay walking white figure appeared whose only discernible features were it's eyes. Beams of light issued from them and focused on the driver's hands which tightly gripped the wheel. "My head was swimmimg with thoughts..I felt very odd..like two enormous hands pressing down on me from the top. The pressure was tremendous. It seemed to paralyse me.I could only move my eyes.The rest of me was rigid" The phantasm walked on penetrating through the mesh of a security fence and steadily vanished as if a ghost.
At times even the most common of automobiles can share the same transparent capability, when also confronted by a fence.

In Chicago, the is of course another infamous phantasm whose nickname, "Resurrection Mary" is familiar to most Chicagoans, as well as her case history of causing hit and run reports, taking rides from strangers and in one infamous account, actually accompanying a cab driver to a bar. However on the night of September 10, 1976, a boundary was crossed between the intangible and the sensate.



A driver passing the gates of Resurrection cemetery noticed a white figure behind the bronze ornamental fencing which was desperately grasping the staves of this fencing as if attempting to escape an accidental entrapment on the grounds. The driver immediately alerted the Justice Police Department which found the above evidential results of an attempt to pry the fencing apart.

In Australia, on the night of February 4, 1973, a nurse and her boyfriend were driving along the Eyre Highway when they came upon an phantasm alongside the road, w a white humanoid figure was oddly silhouetted against a invisible mass.

At 9pm in April of 1977, at the foothills of the Pennines near Sheffield England,the same experience occurred to another couple.

We in Ufology are keenly aware of the alien abduction scenario, and of these sentient creatures who have the capability to roam in the darkness of night to effortlessly penetrate through solid objects such as walls, windows and doors as well as the dreamlike experience of those who file their night journeys under the heading of kidnapping, or may it be possession of another sort? This is not to suggest a satanic cause or a demonic agent, but rather one could ask, are there similar, unrealised natural principal features of ourselves in relation to our environment that are, as of yet, unrecognised? What may they be?

This phenomenon or capability to move through apparently solid features from our sensate point, of view, follows in the wake of another most common capability of another phantasm alien to our waking experience.




One must ask if only for the sake of curiosity, what commonalities do all the above share? In Part Two we will explore the topography of this realm.
