"Oliver entered the shop and asked a big bearded man with a wooden mallet for a job. He became the stone cutter's apprentice. He worked in that dusty yard five years. He became a stone cutter. When his apprenticeship was over he had become a man.
He never found it. He never learned to carve an angel's head. The dove, the lamb, the smooth joined marble hands of death, and letters fair and fine—but not the angel. And of all the years of waste and loss—the riotous years in Baltimore, of work and savage drunkenness, and the theatre of Booth and Salvini, which had a disastrous effect upon the stone cutter, who memorized each accent of the noble rant, and strode muttering through the streets, with rapid gestures of the enormous talking hands—these areblind steps and gropings of our exile, the painting of our hunger as, remembering speechlessly, we seek the great forgotten language, the lost lane-end into heaven, a stone, a leaf, a door. Where? When?
-Thomas Wolfe in Look Homeward Angel
Today I bring you no news, no obscure metaphysical reference nor obtuse theory or tract that you can collect in your back pocket as we pass upon this proverbial street.
It's Sunday, wet, foggy and in perpetual twilight as I write this to you
on such a fitting day.
"All men know the use of the useful, but nobody knows the use of the useless. Where can I find a man who has forgotten words so that I can have a word with him?'
-Chuang Tzu
As a young boy who saw the world through an autistic prism, the existential set piece of a funeral, that was acted out so many years ago, by the various familiar and mysterious characters who, in the hindsight of memory, inhabited a vivid dream, imprinted by example, a secret whispered between the lines of their dialog.
As if I could penetrate the ghosts who inhabited the sundry masks of the jocular business man, the elderly aunt who sat primly in the corner, quietly unacknowledged as well as the overly obsessive chattering exchanges that filled an oceanic void, and that mask of my father, stolid and enigmatic.
I witnessed by that experience, an adult world of pantomime, a world I still inhabit.
Death was the host of that occasion and all the involuntary invitees labored with civility and courage to ignore that fact.
In some sense, I stand aside that young boy that was me, as an adult whose mainspring of time is now measured more by a receding view in the mirror of myself than in what lies before me as I approach being the center of another such occasion, my own death.
Our common role, now worn so routinely as if to become invisible to ourselves in this play, is one of perplexity masked by the familiar, as if the recognisable were a talisman to ward off the spectre of the para normality of existence itself.
One gift that autism provided was the ability to observe others, who had not even the remotest concept of who or what they were, but played their part to perfection.
Perhaps the pathological skeptic is an extreme example of this.
You, by the fact that I am speaking to you in the words you are reading in your own voice, anonymously entered into this domain, for what purpose?
We peer under every rock, we crawl through every bush, we analyse, compare and conceptualise the paranormal as an elusive rune of meaning that perhaps in some vain hope, this too shall apply to us.
Why, you ask? There is no other species of sentient companion that may share with us by extension, a defining clarity of what we are.
We have looked everywhere else.
At one time, Loren Eisley was our Poet Laureate, the unseen observer who, upon observing a row of pumpkins flickering on a Halloween night, and remarked on the resemblance both to himself and to all of us.
In an off line dialog I was asked by a certain, well known researcher, a question regarding the potentialities of extraterrestrial communication. I answered his question with my own. What would you ask them?
His wonderful and sincere response was he had not thought of this.
The process can mask to obscure the point of the exercise to the degree we may forget why we began at the point of origination.
For me, as a young boy, a funeral was the unintended invitation to walk behind the dark scrim, behind the litter of props and the false fronts of stage sets.
There must be something there. Perhaps it was the future. A future me who would be the one who knew. and could somehow return and tell the younger version who I was.
That was the way it was. I stood in the snow and watched as the bronze coffin that carried my beloved grandfather sank below the ground.
As someone once told me, I write this for you so that you will not forget.

Part 2: The Notes From The Chinvat Bridge
Dedicated To Ahura Mazda
"What I am saying is that it is not so much what man is that counts as it is what he ventures to make of himself. To make the leap he must do more than disclose himself; he must risk a certain amount of confusion. Then, as soon as he does catch a glimpse of a different kind of life, he needs to find some way of overcoming the paralyzing moment of threat, for this is the instant when he wonders who he really is - whether he is what he just was or is what he is about to be. Adam must have experienced such a moment."
-George Kelly
Occam's Razor states that the explanation of any phenomenon should make as few assumptions as possible, eliminating those that make no difference in the observable predictions of the explanatory hypothesis or theory. If this principle is correct and we apply it to the apparent enigma and central question of ufology, which is the lack of interest in establishing interspecies contact, we may have an answer. Perhaps we do not recognize that it is we who are the omniscient dinosaurs of our own epoch in which we reign supreme. Despite our self professed ownership of all that we see, to another more advanced species we are but a small part of an ongoing process, and that for them this is an opportunity to witness a extinction one of many such extinctions that have occurred over millions of years on this planet that they have observed and studied and will continue to do so. This exponential growth in interest began in earnest when we brought to the surface of this planet the very process which provides life in order to transform this organic life, a product of our Sun, into into the dead, inert matter of dust. Or at least in my extra dimensional dreams, this much has been said.
A triumph of technology and of the perversity of humankind. They are witnessing a process that began epochs before our arrival and will continue long after we have passed into a sedimentary layer, one of countless such layers that impart the history of Earth. They are observing yet another temporal epoch, yet another extinction. They will continue to observe when we in our vain glory have become fossilized remnants for another species to theorize upon and our cities have been worn by the elements into sand. But let us return to both the present and the near future.
We begin not in the abstractions of physics or mythology or information theory. We begin squarely on Terra Firma. I have sharpened my razor to take a good look at our own species past and current behavior in relation to the possibility of contact with another species. I have volunteered for this odious task in explaining the other parties issues with establishing interspecies contact. For some of you, I am literally, The Devils Advocate.
Creating demons out of the "stranger" the "other" in the pack is a defensive knee jerk reaction born from our animal instincts toward territoriality. One of the most amusing outgrowths concerning the possibility of contact with another species is the inordinate amount of free floating anxiety attached to an exponentially expanding growth of the threats we project upon what an encounter would provide. Where once we banged on sticks now our technological advances has allowed to do so with a much expanded range on the internet. As T.S Elliott described a situation wherein "the center will not hold" as governmental and cultural institutions increasingly exhibit an inability to manage the dissolution of order, the theories and rumors of extraterrestrials will increase exponentially in their abstractions. The future is not promising as it is viewed in extra dimensional dreams. There is the burning of the rubble from collapsed homes that provide solace at night for newly formed communities of refugees. The barter economy based upon the salvaging of canned foodstuffs by tradesmen called 'Canners" in popular parlance returns. Corporate flags fly over voluntary work camps whose meandering throngs make the scene look much like those encampments of The Great Depression. All of this ends "with a whimper, not a bang."
They live in the upper floors of mid rise buildings to which they moor their fishing boats. Some are adorned with what could be called tribal rings along their arms and backs with tattoos which illustrate their rank by deeds in the community. Is this a portent or a potential?
In these dreams, in this specific context, our elusive observers have stated they cannot save us from ourselves.
Let us now return to the stream of largely inane chatter regarding our observers. We need only consider the capability that we ourselves have in monitoring communications channels a hundred fold to consider that they are more than capable of discerning this bizarre behavior in advance of any empirical proof that any harm has been done. For those who think for some reason that it has occurred..well, what if you are wrong? From soul catching to slavery to cloning to what have you, consider that as I suspect, this is not the case, then we have certainly made it clear we are more than a little unstable in both maturity and outlook. They view this as the psychology of anxiety projected upon an unspoken awareness that we do not understand ourselves as well as the fact, we are in the early throes of a semi-hysterical state
Then there are the surrealistic chases by our military aircraft who are not only incapable of a successful targeting of aggression, but who exhibit a provocative responsive stance without any provocation. Unless you consider the act of appearance a provocation. We have told them, yes we do. Fortunately, more mature behavior was exhibited by our supposed "intruders." Yes the territorial imperative is alive and well.
Another amusing psychological observation they have potentially made is our governmental secrecy toward publicly recognizing in any fashion that they exist.
One of our species traits is the overwhelming and uncontrollable application of technological advances far ahead of any capability to determine their value in moral and ethical terms, as well as what the consequences of their use may foreshadow.
An intelligent extraterrestrial could easily provide us with a far advanced technology knowing full well that in our hands we would be more than willing to utilize it without giving this much thought. This of course being due to our aforementioned addictive behaviors toward uncontrollable ownership by possession. They would need only step aside and observe us as we hasten the demise already underway of organic life on our planet, which only receives faint lip service anyway.
This pathological dithering about concerning the exponentially expanding extinction of our environment provides more than enough evidence for abnormal behavior.
Consider this as well, the actual reason for a great deal of this well what a surprise, is an unwillingness to throttle back on another already existing technology......energy.
On the other hand one must more seriously consider that if they, the extraterrestrials do exist, they would have some very serious misgivings regarding our responsible use of any such technology. Anything we are given that has any remote possibility of being converted into weaponry would be quickly undertaken.
A more apt and chilling example of our normality is what was done upon the discovery that we may be sharing the planet with another sentient species, the dolphin.
Outside of eating them, there was the development of plans to teach these innocents how to carry warheads to an "enemy."
Such endeavors hand us a gifting of technology would be akin and as useful as training a monkey to ride a bicycle. Perhaps the most apt example of our species misuse of an advanced technology was the introduction of the television. While having a vast potential to educate and communicate among our species on this planet, we have used it to desensitize ourselves toward our own addiction to have it occupy a position far in excess of any value we receive from it.
Somewhere in the vast interstellar regions of space, gossip over the latest travails of addiction by "stars", certainly passes as more vertebrate lunacy from a planet known for it.
Then of course, there has and is a ongoing war of either local or global proportions since recorded history began. If that were disquieting to a visitor, then imagine what they must observe when they witness the sacred institutionalizing of our species genocide toward itself, with little flags, countries like real estate companies and squabbling over what are supposed to be shared resources, that in reality, nobody owns except in the misfiring neurons of our normality. There are those who have no shelter, there are those who have nothing to eat, there are those of our species that have no medical care and are dying as I type this for want of an inexpensive inoculation while concurrently, we spend billions of dollars on our species inter tribal warfare.
Instead of our forces being united in seeing others as they see themselves, we squander minutes than have turned over into centuries throwing rocks and banging on sticks.
Before we begin judging an intent we know absolutely nothing about, we should all take a deep breath and look at our own intents as evidenced by our behaviors and then ask ourselves if we ourselves put the shoe on the other foot, and put ourselves in their place honestly, without deceiving ourselves, the answer is clear.
They are not the issue here in terms of the possibility of interspecies contact.
We are.
Perhaps its time we stop throwing our abstracted rationales toward others lest we be judged ourselves. Perhaps all of us and myself included, find it safer to travel down a road of mystification rather than explore what is in front of our eyes, especially since what we see is more than enough justification for another species to keep us at arm's length.
Our species is both a dangerous and voracious predator who now kills members of it's own species not for food but as an imprinted ritual of honor with a gift for doing so
by advancing the technological edge of this pathology at every opportunity. We can turn on "on a dime." We have no consistent behavior toward others nor for the most part any cognition of what we truly are. There is no hiding this from another species more advanced than our own. This is not complex. It is very simple to observe.
We can only assist ourselves in this crisis. It is ridiculous to assume that another species that is akin to Superman or Mighty Mouse and will save us from ourselves, which would be absolutely contrary to natural law and an impossibility. This is not the purpose of contact.
The case for contact is largely one of wishful thinking, that circulates as if this swirling whirlpool, our crying need to rise above our origins, were a case of self justification for our acts, or lack of them. However that does not preclude contact as our own self justifications have no extension onto another's concern.
It would be as if we ourselves would attempt to communicate and lead a tribe of indigenous simians.
So our little group returns as each slowly struggles back, one by one, back to The Chinvat Bridge. We were unprepared for what we saw, and more importantly, we now say little to each other. Someone in a resigned tone of voice says "If anyone is interested...they are passing over us now..."
No one bothers in their contemplations to look up. The answer was the simplest explanation, however it was the one we were least capable of viewing. We repack our belongings in the anticipation of returning to our families, but most of them we leave behind as they will serve no useful purpose now. These notes I leave for you, to do with whatever you will chose to do with them. Our observers are neither angels nor devils as I have discharged my obligation as permission lent itself to reveal. As for myself and my companions of another stripe, We wish you well.
IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it....

Part One: The Notes From The Chinvat Bridge.

On the fourth day, we have made our way to The Chinvat Bridge (the Bridge of the Separator, also call Al-Sirat), accompanied by gods of protection. The bridge is "finer than a hair and sharper than a sword" and spans a deep chasm teeming with monsters. On the other side of the bridge is the gateway to paradise.
Perhaps we can say that we, the adherents of the UFO phenomenon have reached such a bridge in our estimations, as the clock exponentially increases it's path toward a demarcation between the perception of monsters chained by desire and the angels of paradise. Perhaps this may be intentional, this positioning on the bridge.
Perhaps this intention is one not entirely of our own design.
We tell ourselves at it's foot, that we have reached our latest challenge solely by our own efforts as if we ourselves were the center of all the phenomenon we have observed so far.

A species defines itself in the many facets of behavior that it exhibits to an observer. We have defined ourselves as a sentient species by a process of comparison with other species. However, we are at a disadvantage in this as we can locate no other species, who appear to exhibit sentient cognition on a par with our own.
We, as a species also make an effort to study ourselves and our behavior.
This is the only means that we have at our disposal to define a consensus as to what constitutes normal behavior. We have no basis of comparison to view ourselves as a species from another species point of observation, let alone one which may be advanced in evolutionary terms beyond that of our own.
This unique state of affairs leads to both conjecture and conceptual modeling based on our own narrow view of what constitutes normal behavior, as we define, based soley on the subjective basis of our own sociological and psychological "insights" as to what a more advanced state and station of another sentient species may constitute.
How likely is it that an advanced species would murder one another,or conduct this as an institutionalized and cultural practice over a span of centuries?
If we move away from our speculations upon this recognition, we have another to consider. Plato in (Book VII of The Republic, discusses Socrates observation of another fallibility in our cognition toward another species as Socrates discusses justice with Glaucon, one of Plato’s brothers.
Here we have a situation that compounds the situation of judging another's species behavior to that of our own. This facet of our equation explores the fallibility of cognition of one's state and position in relation to location as it impacts the sum potential of our speculations upon cartography of our critical assumptions.
"Let’s compare our own education and understanding of the world to people in a cave—to human beings in an underground, cave-like dwelling with a long and wide entrance open toward the light. From childhood on, the people who live in this cave have their legs and necks chained so that they can see only straight ahead in front of them. The chains keep them from turning their heads in any other direction.'
http://www.cco.net/~trufax/paradigm/paradigm/plato.html
John Klein:I think we can assume that these entities are more advanced than us. Why don't they just come right out and tell us what's on their minds?
Alexander Leek: You're more advanced than a cockroach, have you ever tried explaining yourself to one of them?
So we pause and prepare ourselves before moving forward. We look around us and see the various members of our little group. Some of us have lost our humility along the way as we approached this yawing chasm. We expect answers from others in that we cannot provide for ourselves. Perhaps our answer is an image reflected back to us which we have provided as a rationale without questioning it's source. However some of us see the source as an existential illusion manufactured by necessity. Others, would prefer that it cannot exist because they have chosen that the decision to observe would strip away the clothing that protects their ignorance of an answer. Others have created a self comforting mythology to preserve the sanctity of the intellect. Some provide answers in lieu of questions. Some look to the town constable who wears the costume of protection and justice to explain his assumed knowledge as it is his role to know. However he informs you by his silence that he knows its secret when, in fact he is hiding that he does not know. If you knew he did not know, he believes his job which you finance may be on the line. He has little to fear, as he unwittingly has joined our expeditionary band toward a an immeasurable precipice, unmapped and fraught with the anxiety of a recognition, that all of us are unprepared.
Certainly we all recognize, if anything, that this situation of our little group is a very interesting one from an existential perspective. Perhaps as we assume that we ourselves are an object of interest rather than the larger picture of context, which we cannot grasp by our isolated stance upon an proverbial island, all of our speculations are a moot point. If they were not, then preparations would certainly be well underway for contact. We would be aware and follow a course free of the myriad of cross purposes our that chatter demonstrates. We act upon the stage of our own species isolation as if it were perfectly logical, perfectly insightful like out two freinds who await the arrival of Godot.
In Part Two, now that we have set the staging in proper arrangement at our encampment at the footings of The Chinvat Bridge, we will compare notes on conceptual models of behavior in an advanced species by looking at some potential examples, rare and as obscure as they are, among ourselves. We will also look at something we all would prefer not to admit,at the peril of our own existance, our natural predisposition of addiction.
At dusk, our leader at the rear of our little group faintly calls through the thickening fog for us to move forward onto the bridge as the weather begins a turn for the worse. We must have everything we need now. We frantically rummage through the intangibles we have gathered in preparation for this final summit for which we have gathered to surmount. There is no turning back fron The Chinvat Bridge.

National Security and The Targeting of Thought

"There is an Eastern tale that speaks about a very rich magician who had a great many sheep. But at the same time this magician was very mean. He did not want to hire shepherds, nor did he want to erect a fence about the pasture where the sheep were grazing. The sheep consequently often wandered into the forest, fell into ravines and so on, and above all, they ran away, for they knew that the magician wanted their flesh and their skins, and this they did not like.
At last the magician found a remedy. He hypnotized his sheep and suggested to them, first of all, that they were immortal and that no harm was being done to them when they were skinned; that on the contrary, it would be very good for them and even pleasant; secondly he suggested that the magician was a good master who loved his flock so much that he was ready to do anything in the world for them; and in the third place, he suggested that if anything at all were going to happen to them, it was not going to happen just then, at any rate not that day, and therefore they had no need to think about it. Further, the magician suggested to his sheep that they were not sheep at all; to some of them he suggested that they were lions, to some that they were eagles, to some that they were men, to others that they were magicians. After this all his cares and worries about the sheep came to an end. They never ran away again, but quietly awaited the time when the magician would require their flesh and skins."

The UFO Phenomenon As A National Security Threat
For those of you who are regular readers of this site, you have come to know that the locus of my efforts are not placed in the arena of politics. This is an exception as well as a story about domestic intelligence and the enigmatic and covert monitoring of this website, which on the face of it, would not appear to present any present or future danger to you. Does it pose a potential danger to The State? Apparently it does, to The State Department,The Department of Justice and to Naval Intelligence.
Why? you ask. I don't know but apparently they know something I do not and they are not about to tell me. I suspect, of course it must be my subject matter. Scroll down the home page and pick a topic. Perhaps Mr George Orwell had an insight into this situation wherein "During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act.' Then again, this is not so.
There is no revolution afoot.
We are entranced toward the trivial, the entertainments and the necessities of wages. As Ray Bradbury observed "There are worse crimes than burning books. One of them is not reading them." Our ambivalence toward the welfare of our own liberty is based upon a greater desire and concern for personal gadgetry.
Below the surface of the familiar and the self comforting lies that we whisper to ourselves, slowly seeping as an underground stream into the under pinnings of our lives, an presence alien to us watches silently, observing us in stealth, marking the observations of our behavior well, targeting our interests, our dialogs, who comes and who goes and most importantly, our thoughts.
Increased Domestic Role for Intelligence Foreseen
"Spy satellites and other classified intelligence technologies are poised to play a greater role in domestic homeland security and law enforcement missions, challenging long-standing legal and policy barriers against their domestic use.
The Wall Street Journal reported today that the Director of National Intelligence recently authorized access to intelligence satellite products by officials of the Department of Homeland Security to help support border security."
-Secrecy News from the Federation of American Scientists Project on Government Secrecy
"Now, these same cynics decided that World War Three would be a war of information systems that had to do with the control of the belief systems of the masses by small groups of people, usually in a secret environment, with very sophisticated means of communications, computers, satellites and so on."
-Jacques Vallee
This imaginary scenario set forth by Mr Vallee has a faint ring of familiarity. Yes, as a matter of fact, as I recall it, this scenario had a tactical strategy embodied by a slogan as well as perhaps this slogan describes more accurately an increasingly common scenario of Mr Orwell's "doublethink".
WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

A Shift Of Paradigm
It is a cliche that those who do not learn the lessons of history are fated to repeat them. Anyone who is an apt student of history recognizes that the coordination of the manipulation of patriotism, electronic media manipulation and the covert strategic targeting and domestic surveillance of civilian citizens was pioneered some sixty years ago. That concentrated bureaucratic management toward the interests and investments of the potent coordination of private industrial and governmental interests and aims held in common ultimately failed in a catastrophic collapse which proved to be a delusion that the pathology of control is an absolute. In this specific, pioneering effort to reinforce the interests of the state over that of it's citizens, only in hindsight is clear. Melding of the states and private economic interests with that of it's citizens requires a common real or perceived enemy, whether it is concrete or created is a matter of expediency. For many in Germany, the consequences of recognizing this matrix of powerful forces after the fact,, was both stunning, and an indictment of their suggestibility toward their own manipulated fears. Through the study of history, we see this as a fact, not an opinion that absolute power or the presumption of it, corrupts absolutely. In a series that focused on black box projects in experimental physics during the last months of The Third Reich and the subsequent covert recruitment of scientists and intelligence officers who were, in effect, war criminals, folded into fabric of our own government, I asked myself aloud on this site, I really wonder who won World War Two?
Yes, I intuit a transfer, a shift of paradigm beyond that of technology, upon a transference of possessions due to the admiration of efficiencies..yes an admiration not spoken in public..an acknowledgment that it was not us that won the war, it was they who lost it.
It was Thomas Jefferson who originally warned that banking interests were far more dangerous than a standing army. At the same time, also in hindsight, one considers the unknown circumstances and back ground that leads to an inexplicable yet profound testament of prophecy by a patriot whose credentials in this regard are unquestioned. His warning is both cryptic in it's portent and a warning against an as yet unrecognized threat. If you study the nuance displayed by studying the transcript of his speech, one gets an impression that while he was concerned enough to pronounce a warning, he was apparently over run by circumstance, as he did nothing that I am aware of to thwart it. Perhaps it is not an irony, but a astute recognition that this public warning came from the man largely responsible for the defeat of the Reich. He sensed the arrival of a new form of government for and by the combined profit of governmental and private interests. If this were so, the potential for profit is infinite. Democracy would become ceremonial. It was George Washington , the General of The Rebellion and our first President who set this country on the path to liberty and denied himself the role of King who warned us to; 'Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism."
"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist."
-D Eisenhower
If this were so, then a position that was formerly ceremonial would be required for a point position addressing the needs of this unseen corporation, someone to carry the water, as it were, to operate this new governmental corporation.Do we have a candidate to insert into this theory that evidences this role? The behavior would have to evidence a melding of the governmental corporate financial profitability with the propagandistic flair toward instilling these goals in a public forum using Dr Goebbels brilliant but dark manipulation of patriotism. Also, as someone once advised "Follow the money." In all this, the representatives of the people must obey the dictates of their silence, referenced long ago by the clergyman Jonathan Mayhew, who forever changed history in a rousing sermon, when he denounced taxation without representation.
"This responsibility did not come to us by chance. We are in a unique position because of our unique assets, because of the character of our people, the strength of our ideals, the might of our military and the enormous economy that supports it. We cannot take these for granted, and President Bush does not. He has proposed, as you know, the largest increase in spending for national security in a generation. The skill and bravery of our troops and the power of their equipment to protect American and our friends and allies is at stake. The precision of our weapons can spare the lives of innocent civilians. Yet modern warfare is expensive. In Afghanistan, the effort has cost more than $30 million a day. We must also remember that the time frames involved run very long in the military. The forces we'll have to defend us 10 or 20 years hence must be planned and built today.' -Richard Cheney
File under: WAR IS PEACE.
How much profit is involved? File under: IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH. Thats a secret as well. in other words, praise the citizen soldier, use citizen's patriotism as a duty and then do not allow them to view the checkbook from whence their funds are withdrawn. Brilliant, in a sociopathic sense. There is no way, for example, to know who is doing most of the reconstruction work in Iraq, because it is being handled by subcontractors, who never work directly for the taxpayers. Rather, they report to companies like Halliburton and Bechtel, which have been awarded giant umbrella contracts, and are not subject to the Freedom of Information Act.It was Samuel Adams who observed "He who is void of virtuous attachments in private life is, or very soon will be, void of all regard for his country. There is seldom an instance of a man guilty of betraying his country, who had not before lost the feeling of moral obligations in his private connections."
There is another cost to this. Tell that to a loved one, a mother, a sister, a brother who has lost someone. No photographs are allowed of the coffins as they arrive home, just as if there was no human cost....akin to a video game. All of this makes my stomach turn. Ask yourself one simple question, what drives all of this so successfully? Its the doublespeak that is most eloquent. Fear. We are protecting your freedom by removing your freedom
File this under:FREEDOM IS SLAVERY.
"Then the plotline in Iraq turned out to be not just phony, but also ridiculous. Not only were there no weapons of mass destruction, but the chemical warfare the generals and ex-generals nightly told us to expect also never materialized. Saddam Hussein not only had no offensive weapons, he didn’t have many defensive ones. That summer, when it turned out our troops had staged a lightning raid to “save” Private Jessica Lynch from an Iraqi “military hospital” that didn’t even have a Nurse Ratched in it, we broadcast the revised history as reported by a Canadian newspaper—the first TV news outlet in the country, I think, to do so. The right-wing water-carriers buffeted our management, and our management buffeted me."
-Keith Oberman from Truth and Consequences
Oh yes, did i mention that I use Comcast? Do you?
"Upon lawful request and for a thousand dollars, Comcast, one of the nation's leading telecommunications companies, will intercept its customers' communications under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.The cost for performing any FISA surveillance "requiring deployment of an intercept device" is $1,000.00 for the "initial start-up fee (including the first month of intercept service)," according to a newly disclosed Comcast Handbook for Law Enforcement (pdf).' -From Secrecy News
"And need one ask whether, in such a society, the concepts of self-government, republicanism, or "rule of the people" can have any real meaning?"

Our Domestic Intelligence Crisis
By Richard A. Posner
Wednesday, December 21, 2005; Page A31
"We've learned that the Defense Department is deeply involved in domestic intelligence (intelligence concerning threats to national security that unfold on U.S. soil). The department's National Security Agency has been conducting, outside the framework of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, electronic surveillance of U.S. citizens within the United States. Other Pentagon agencies, notably the one known as Counterintelligence Field Activity (CIFA), have, as described in Walter Pincus's recent articles in The Post, been conducting domestic intelligence on a large scale. Although the CIFA's formal mission is to prevent attacks on military installations in the United States, the scale of its activities suggests a broader concern with domestic security. Other Pentagon agencies have gotten into the domestic intelligence act, such as the Information Dominance Center, which developed the Able Danger data-mining program."

From Forbidden Science To Forbidden Thought
I am writing to you as a fellow student of the paranormal, the anomalous, and the mysterious. This post also concerns an overlooked topic, the sanctity of our quest to explore, to ask questions to theorize and wonder in the face of increasing governmental intrusions into these facets of our thoughts both private and public. In this age of encrypted truth, we are the objects of unsolicited management. There is no longer a need for the MIB, no need to knock on a unsuspecting fellows door at 3am.
Due to the ongoing surveillance of these words that you are reading, by those who feel an obligation to not openly disclose, discuss or ask us personally as to our unalienable expression of thought as to assume upon themselves, a judgement that our intent is counter opposed to that of the State without a shred, an iota of evidence in a country founded upon reason, that this is so.
We are not alone in this. Follow these links and you will leave behind as I have, a fundamentally critical assumption concerning a sacred obligation by those whose wages we pay by taxation,to protect our liberty as individuals.
Here is a situation from a fellow blogger who detected a covert visitor that is very similar to that of my own. I have several.
From Hongpong.Com, a review of stats led to a surprise.
"So let us consider the IP numbers of the CIA's openly marked relays. This is information released publicly (over DNS) - so don't anyone accuse me of going Novak. The CIA obviously has computers whose IP numbers don't say friggin "CIA.gov" when you look them up. 198.81.129.194 and 198.81.129.193. On the 193 address they came on a google search for "goss punish cia analysts cold war 2004" back on Nov. 10, 2004, when surely Agency employees were pondering the blowback from the election. They ended up on the War on Terror index page."

BIG BROTHER: So Many Fans in Norfolk!
JEEZ, RIGHT AFTER my previous post went up about the discovery of mustard gas artillery shells in Spring Valley, my site meter started lighting up from the Navy Marine Corps Intranet. I had no idea I had so many fans in Norfolk that are still using Windows 2000! Thanks for the traffic! I hope my readers realize that this information already was printed in The Washington Post, which has a considerably larger readership base than The Washington Oculus. Nothing sinister here folks. Unless of course you're talking about Curbed's spy shots from within the Hearst Building in New York.

A good article on another "experiencer" of domestic intelligence:

Or, another;
"Another interesting entry in the ridey.net webserver logs reveals that somebody at the US State Department (in particular, sherman.state.gov - isn't it quaint how they name their servers after old generals and presidents? we've also been visited by buchanan.state.gov) spent about two minutes perusing this weblog. They arrived via a Google search for "Bush's Bad Science", and I'm quite proud that we come third in the results, just behind the Washington Post, thanks to an item I had posted about an article in the Nation written by Robert F Kennedy Jr. The State Department visitor also read this item, which was about their boss."

"A Bill of Rights is what the people are entitled to against every government, and what no just government should refuse, or rest on inference."
-Thomas Jefferson
Against the Grain of Indoctrination
As a young child, with my lunch sack tucked into my coat, every morning, my mother bid me farewell as I dutifully left for a school to be indoctrinated by the techniques of repetition, and the memorization of facts.
Every morning, we recited the pledge of allegiance, which imprinted the credo and intent of "with liberty and justice for all". Every month, we would take on a fetal position beneath our desks in a "drill" in the event of an atomic attack from those who, we were told, had as their stated goal, the destruction of liberty and justice.
The Soviet Union, we were told was the was an example of a state embodied as a theology which destroyed those who, as Jefferson said; "..will bear in mind this sacred principle, that though the will of the majority is in all cases to prevail, that will to be rightful must be reasonable; that the minority possess their equal rights, which equal law must protect, and to violate would be oppression."
In every progressive grade, in increasingly complex examples, we were "tested" on our memorization and indoctrination in a hundred fold examples of liberty, which when conjoined to thought, had created the circumstances that brought forth an Samuel Adams ,a Thomas Paine,or a Jefferson, who as leaders presented their fellows with a radical idea that individual liberty supersedes that of the state. In an era in which perpetual and permanent telephone intercepts, internet drilling and compendiums of unfavorables are kept on file, Mr Jefferson, should he reappear in this climate would be identified as an enemy of The State. That is more than a sobering consideration.
In this now vanished world of my youth and of grade school, some teachers, though rare in their departure from the texts, would provide an experience rather than an exercise. A introspective and disheveled Mr Koch had me read Edward Arlington Robinson's 'Miniver Cheevy" in front of my classmates. This one experience instilled within me, a life long love of poetry that continues. The ever manic and enthusiastic Mr Adelman had me arrange and argue the argument of states rights on behalf of the Confederacy in front of my classmates which reinforced my acknowledgment that democracy as it's founders brought forth from The Age of Enlightenment, is a government not dogmatic by theology, not by the force of a King, but by Reason.
"However, it also discloses two things that have never been disclosed before. First, they have found patterns in those sightings. They wanted to go on studying before any kind of scientific panel was convened. So they were telling the CIA to stop this top secret meeting of the five scientists. Now, when I read this, I almost fell from my chair. I mean, who were these people nobody had ever heard of before? They were actually telling the CIA to stop this top secret meeting of the five leading physicists in the land. Then they, went on saying that they wanted to discuss what could and could not be told to those scientists. Now, from a, if you will, from a historical point of view or from a ufological point of view, that may or my not be significant. From a scientific point of view, it's amazing, I mean, science relies on the ability of researchers to get the data and if there is somebody who is in the background telling agencies of a government what can and cannot be told to the scientists who are hired to make an assessment of the potential threat to the security of the country; I mean, this is... this is extraordinary."

I am one example of potentially millions who have gained from the exceptions to the common rule of rote learning, by those individuals who determined and practiced that learning is the ability and fostering of those abilities to ask important questions, not the repetition of dogma
Ask yourself this most important question; What does the state fear in the freedom of expression? Secondly, how has the most primary of our founding fathers reasons in rebellion and then establishment of a governance by individuals protected in their exercise of liberty..how does this now become an act of sedition defined by the actions of the state to supersede as Jefferson observed; "A Bill of Rights is what the people are entitled to against every government, and what no just government should refuse, or rest on inference."

'It’s also truth that the U.S. in the modern world is the center of control and as such is really the center of repression over a lot of global media. Americans have a hard time understanding this because we all grew up thinking certain things about our country, but this isn’t the past. This is 2007. We’re in a different world. Other countries in fact can be expected to be pushing the envelope far more than the U.S. government. I think that what’s happening with the U.S. government is that it is firmly under the control of certain transnational corporations and very wealthy interests. They’ve gotten their hooks into matters here and they’re not going to let go easily. So if there is going to be change then it could very well come from elsewhere, from other countries. I definitely do not see any voluntary disclosure on the part of the U.S. government."
-Richard Dolan An Interview with Richard Dolan by Brent Raynes
This ham fisted attempt to destroy the basis of our liberty is a epitaph for the country my family fought for, as well as for the pursuit of truth. Those whom were entrusted and sworn with the preserving and defending of individual liberty as the foundational reason for the existance of their employer, are the agents of forces spinning wildly in the free fall of our constitutional principals which are applied against it's own people.
"This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or exercise their revolutionary right to overthrow it."

This actor does not worry about such things as law or revolution as he is subtle, he does not shout or threaten, he whispers in your ear. He does not announce himself and hand you his business card. No,he deserves much more credit than that. He influences from afar, he utilizes stooges and pawns. He pays well. He notes weakness, he notes the texture and intent of your words and weighs them. He bides his time, collecting, analyzing, disseminating every word you transmit from your thoughts, every phrase. When the moment arrives he is certainly wants to be prepared for an occasion which may arise and require a quick response, a management of crisis or more darkly, a quick clean up of these factoids. Who is who and what is what. File them. Sort them. Assign designations, routings and numbers.Vertical integration and local cooperation is the key. It reminds me of another time, another place..mass movements..synthetic migrations...required identifications...it was very efficient. But of course, these sort of things happen to others, not to us. But back to my original question as it concerns this site. Why was it targeted?
In a democracy, there could be no justification for a national containment of undesirables, without the process of law, without the right to an attorney and the right to know what the charges are.
Right, sort of similar to domestic spying, is it not?
"It astonishes me to find... [that so many] of our countrymen... should be contented to live under a system which leaves to their governors the power of taking from them the trial by jury in civil cases, freedom of religion, freedom of the press, freedom of commerce, the habeas corpus laws, and of yoking them with a standing army. This is a degeneracy in the principles of liberty... which I [would not have expected for at least] four centuries." --Thomas Jefferson to William Stephens Smith, 1788. (*) FE 5:3

The Kursk and An Unidentified Submarine Object

On Saturday, August 12,2000 the giant Russian nuclear submarine Kursk -- carrying a crew of 118 -- sank in the waters of the Barents Sea, after what Russian officials described as a "catastrophe that developed at lightning speed." At the time the Itar-Tass news agency said that the nuclear-powered Russian submarine Kursk reported it had hit an unidentified object underwater. TRIA news agency, at the time, quoted the Northern Fleet press office as saying the crew was not in danger and that the question of abandoning the stricken vessel had not been raised. ''The Russian Northern Fleet command said, "They did not rule out that the foreign submarine was also damaged and was now not far from the Kursk.' A top Russian navy commander stated that SOS signals from a foreign submarine were recorded when the Kursk, was sinking. The commander of the Russian Northern Fleet, Vyacheslav Popov, is reported to have told a newspaper Nezavisimaya Gazeta that the signals had been picked up by a navy cruiser Peter the Great.Laboratory analysis showed the signals had been emitted by a foreign submarine near the Kursk, which he said added to evidence that the disaster had been caused by a collision. But he added that the real reason behind the accident would only become clear once the submarine had been raised. US Navy spokeswoman said, that a US Navy ship "Loyal," that routinely gathers underwater acoustical data, was about 250 miles away from the Russian submarine when it went down, which eliminated the possibility that this was the unidentified object referred to in the RIA report. The ship was there by coincidence and had nothing to do with the Russian submarine or subsequent rescue efforts." Two US submarines were also in the general area but there was no indication they were involved.More on this later.
The first meeting of the Russian Governmental commission was held on August 17 in the evening. At the same time the official version of disaster was declared. After more precise definition of August 19 and 20 it looked like the first reasons for tragedy was a strong "dynamic external impact" corresponding with "first event" at 11:29. Probably it was the collision with a foreign (?) submarine (by displacement not less than 10,000 t, and moving at a speed about 10 kn.).After the meeting it was announced that the survey during the recovery operation has produced new evidence, including a videotape of a dent in the "Kursk" hull and lines scratched on the fore part of the Kursk body, as if it had collided with some object. He did not rule out that an object on the sea surface could deal the blow. However this seems unlikely as well as the other theories of collision with a WW2 era mine or some unidentified ice breaker with a reinforced hull. Owing to large and fast entry of water in the bow compartments, the submarine hit the seabed with a down trim at high speed. This resulted in detonation of weapons in 1-st compartment ("second event" at 11:31). During the rapid development of the catastrophe, it was understood that most of the crew in most of the compartments, except 2-3 at the stern, has perished during first minutes of disaster. During TV-interview August 21, Russian Minister of Defence, announced three pieces of information (without any documentary proofs): 1) about 200 m near the KURSK's bow were detected foreign matters, presumably, fragments of conning tower of foreign submarine (Norwegian divers declared that they, at least, did not see anything like it). 2) In the morning of August 13 on the seabed near the KURSK was detected one more objects of similar dimensions. 3) The buoys of foreign colouring, green and white, were spotted also (but they were not found later).
This begs the question what is documentary proof or for that matter use of that term when they cannot be produced? Or, was the "proof", a ruse to deflect that they knew they had no proof and yet if this was so, what was the unidentified object?
This must have prompted a very testy, stressful and unscheduled drill of crisis management at the kremlin. I think the hapless "Marlboro Man" in the middle was reflecting perhaps a lateral career move to Siberia was a possibility.
To make matters worse, according to Ilya Klebanov and deputy Head of Northern Shipping Route Administration A. Ushakov, there were no civil vessels in exercises area, which eliminated yet another possibility.
The 5-day search in the area of accident by Mirs submersibles provided Russians with no evidence that the Kursk collided with a foreign submarine.
The submersibles spent around 96 hours all together underwater in search for such evidence, having surveyed around five square kilometres of the seabed around the Kursk.
So, what sank the Kursk?
Komsomolskaya Pravda reported on June 20, 2002 that;
"THE KURSK MYSTERY HAS BEEN SOLVED. ON JUNE 29, THE GOVERNMENT COMMISSION INTO THE SUBMARINE SINKING WILL PRESENT A REPORT ON THE EXAMINATION AND ITS RESULTS. HOWEVER, IT IS ALREADY KNOWN THAT THE SUBMARINE WAS DESTROYED BY THE DETONATION OF A 650-MILLIMETER TORPEDO ON BOARD.
There is no longer any Kursk mystery - and there never was There is no more mystery about the Kursk submarine sinking. Because there never was.Yesterday, the governmental commission confirmed the conclusions of our investigation: the submarine sank due to the explosion of a large torpedo on board."
If so, one recalls that Itar-Tass news agency stated that Kursk reported it had hit an unidentified object underwater. What happened to the reported fragments, the hull damage, the videotape of a dent in the "Kursk" hull and lines scratched on the fore part of the Kursk body, as if it had collided with some object? Why was the detonation stated to be a "secondary event?"
Suddenly, case closed, at least it was for public consumption.
However, there was evidence to the contrary which confirmed in an independent manner, there was a collision. The sounds were recorded by seismograph in Norway. The first seismic trace from Norway showed the main explosion from what appears to be a torpedo warhead, and preceding it by two minutes, another smaller event. Although labeled as an explosion, the waveform is not that of an explosive event but a long grinding sound, which adds further substantiation as to what the Russians were stating earlier but then it was absent from the official public pronouncements as to the cause of the sinking, while the evidence demonstrated that there was a collision first, then a detonation.
Out of nowhere, suddenly the public was provided with yet another explanation which was planted in the media.

A misdirected missile from a Russian cruiser caused the disaster of the Kursk nuclear powered submarine during a training exercise, says a member of a Russian parliamentary team investigating the disaster.
Sergei Zhikov, a deputy and a former submariner, said yesterday that the Kursk and the Peter the Great, a Russian cruiser, were on an exercise in the Barents Sea in which "the cruiser acted as an enemy aircraft carrier and the submarine was expected to attack it". He said the Peter the Great fired five anti-submarine missiles at the Kursk but only four could be found afterwards. "It looks like the submarine was hit by the missing [anti-submarine] missile," Mr Zhikov told the Interfax newsagency. The Kursk then tried to rise to the surface in an emergency but had hit the bottom of the Peter the Great. The cause of the sinking of the Kursk and the death of its 118 crew is an episode that President Vladimir Putin wants to put behind him. The Kremlin now says that nobody survived the initial explosion and that tapping sounds from inside the hull, which the Russian navy said showed that some sailors were alive 48 hours after the disaster, were made by automatic machinery. The claim by Mr Zhikov is similar to a report in the Berliner Zeitung newspaper last week, which said that an investigation by the Russian Federal Security Service had concluded that the Kursk had been sunk by a Granit missile fired by the Peter the Great. It said that the Granit had travelled 12 miles underwater before exploding close to the Kursk. Russian officers have hotly denied that the Kursk could have been sunk by one of their own ships, but have been unable to explain exactly what happened. The Pentagon said that there were two explosions in the vicinity of the Kursk at 7.28am and 7.30am on 12 August. The second was 45 to 50 times bigger than the first, suggesting that one or more of the Kursk's own torpedoes had exploded. That appears to be confirmed by the extent of the damage to the forward part of the submarine, but the cause of the first explosion is still remains unknown.
Another small detail..the Russians understandably do not carry live warheads in an exercise. The use of such a weapon would have produced a trace on the sonar records of the US ship that was spying on the exercise. In the case of torpedos, both for the Russian and US, the training torpedos are designed only to get to within a certain distance of the target then surface to be recovered. Training torpedos do not hit their targets. How could or more importantly why would Sergei Zhikov, a former submariner, fabricate such a hoax?
Other facts emerged The rescue buoy was not released. The escape capsule was not used. The submarine has a large hole along the right side in the forward sections. Scratch marks extend to the fin, which also has some impact damage. The fin never touched the seabed. Large pieces of the sub's hull are scattered across the seabed, as well as having left a long trail on the seabed. All the external masts and the periscope were extended. These systems are extended only when the sub is surfaced, surfacing, or traveling at the periscope depth of about 10 meters. Prior to dives all masts are retracted inside the hull. This is done even during an rapid emergency diving. The inclination of the planes at a inclination of over 60 degrees starboard indicates the breach of the high pressure air and ballast tanks on the same ship side at the beginning of the plunge, which have caused automatic shut down of the two ship's reactors, because they could not operate at that tilt. It would appear the Kursk was on the surface, not submerged. But then again, why did it report hitting an unidentified object, unless the object was encountered during an emergency dive, but then again,, why were the masts and scope extended?
One thing is certain, the impact was extremely sudden. If the Kursk was surfaced why did it fail to detect and identify this object?
In the final written report, the official Russian government commission determined that the sub sank because of a explosion onboard. The cause of the explosion was likely to be a collision with an unidentified massive external body with approximate displacement of 7,000-8,000 metric tons traveling at over 6 knots (faster than "Kursk") at the depth of 20-25 meters. The impact was at a 20-30-degree angle between the velocity vectors of "Kursk" and the unidentified external object. Russian media reports related that the unidentified object, which hit "Kursk" was attempting to steer away to the left and down from the Russian submarine in the last moments before the collision.
What is interesting in this for those who are familiar with the UFO phenomenon, is there is always the psychology of The Answer Man, or in the plural who make a profession of pronouncements founded on their addiction to seeking approval of worth by others. Being contrary to ordinary certainly draws a crowd;
From The Austrialian:
US Torpedoed Kursk Nuclear Sub
Daniel Stacey, London | May 09, 2005
A FORMER British military official has backed a sensational claim that the Russian nuclear submarine, the Kursk, was torpedoed by US forces in August 2000.
An official inquest concluded that the disaster – in which all 118 crew drowned in the Barents Sea, 135km off the Russian coast – was caused by an accidental explosion of an onboard torpedo. But Maurice Stradling, a former torpedo engineer and a key figure in the original investigation, believes a new French documentary, The Kursk: A Submarine in Troubled Waters, should change world opinion on the sinking.
"On the balance of probabilities, the Kursk was sunk by an American MK-48 torpedo," said Mr Stradling, formerly a senior member of the British Defence Ministry.
This photograph was taken by A Russian satellite of the Norwegian naval base Haakonsvern on the August, 19,2000 and is used by ships up to frigate class, interestingly but not for for submarines. What the photograph revealed was a nuclear submarine of the Los Angeles class has come into Haakonsvern and moored in the piers close to a frigate. There have been unsubstantiated reports that this submarine as well as possibly another arrived there for emergency repairs.
The docking of this submarine, especially a nuclear one at that, at a base that does not accommodate it is odd but again, there are no verifiable reports that I am aware of that indicates repairs were undertaken. It is difficult to imagine if this were so, the Russians would fail to launch a major uproar. Instead the official finding remains just that and the unidentified object also remains unidentified.
Whether it was a USO or another submarine which caused this tragedy, I don't know, but the strangeness of this incident is provocative and can certainly be stamped "unsolved."

Emotional States and Extra Sensory Perception
"Action seems to follow feeling, but really action and feeling go together; and by regulating the action, which is under the more direct control of the will, we can indirectly regulate the feeling, which is not."-William James
"The most distant roots of Emotional intelligence can be traced back to Darwin’s early work on the importance of emotional expression for survival and adaptation.
In the 1900's, even though traditional definitions of intelligence emphasized cognitive aspects such as memory and problem-solving, several influential researchers in the intelligence field of study had begun to recognize the importance of the non-cognitive aspects. For instance, as early as 1920, E. L. Thorndike at Columbia University, used the term social intelligence to describe the skill of understanding and managing other people."
-From Emotional Intelligence Wikipedia

More Questions Than Answers
Is there a correlation and linkage between the ESP phenomenon, the phantasms of ghosts, and communication between pets and their owners? Is there a common denominator? Throughout our lives, our emotions track a parallel path alongside thought. Perhaps they are one and the same.
I don't know. However, there seems to be an unspoken perception rooted in that most mysterious phenomenon we call emotion within ourselves. As a student of reality as manifested in relationships, it is provocative. Especially in the context of our organic capability to create a higher grade energy from a lower grade source.
Think of a salad and then reflect on your capability to produce emotions as well as perhaps experiences are also food to be digested by another human organ that is personality. Perhaps the quality of our diet is based upon perceptual emotions, and, of course, our amphibious nature between the intangible and tangible allows us unique potential opportunities. However we must consider that in all likelihood we are more attached to our "pet corns" than any of us care to admit.
Perceptual Emotion and Behavior
Emotion and perception are co-joined as a stick with two ends. One emotional state or position is passive and the other is active. The two combine to create a third, the aggegate sum akin to a bandwidth that in of itself is a form of communication.
This possibility is one that has enormous potential and the object of this post is to share what has led me to my current course of interest and experimentation, which, at a later date, may prove to a dead end. Even so, its an interesting dead end.
Called "the heart" in it's intangible version, many consider this quality of ourselves the most mysterious of our faculties. This, in spiritual technical terms is what is called a station(1),that both receives and transmits according to its position in relation to a nested heirarchy, which Dr John Lilly observed and termed a transceiving capability.
On one end of this stick, there is emotion as a reactive set of autonomic biases based on a lack of coherent perception toward ones many preferences. Some you encounter you may either have an affinity toward, while, at the same time, others irritate you.
In this spectrum, this modality precedes communication which influences our conceptual nature which transforms this emotional predisposition into behavior within a reciprocal exchange between our senses and our state of bias, how we react either in attraction or repulsion to what we encounter. Some judge food by color. Some by a tactile sense. Some by smell. Perhaps we can consider this a case of influencing suggestion by how we define our perceptions. Also, we cannot discount the influence of one station of behavioral emotion when either attracted or repelled or neutralised by another whether it is in the laboratory or on the street. The perception of emotion as it effects behavior at times, seems to drive logic.
As Dr Sidris and William James went back and forth on this very issue of metaphysical versus physical with auto suggestion thrown into the mix, in all probability, they were both correct. GI Gurdjieff would conclude nobody is home, which leads us back to William James, who famously asked "Does Consciousness Exist?" Perhaps it does by how we conceptualise it by our own behavior then also perhaps as GI Gurdjieff observed, this may not be an objective stance as "the study of human psychology is the study of abnormal psychology."
"In our society, mainly concerned with production and efficiency, the drama is that our capacity for questioning, still so vivid in early childhood, is very quickly eradicated or pushed aside for the benefit of our capacity for answering. When a child has a real question, most of the time he is imme- diately given a stupid answer. In the best cases the educator goes to the dictionary to be sure his answer is accurate. But anyhow unconsciously, if not proudly, he closes the question. From school to the end of our life it is always necessary to answer. We are compelled to learn how to answer. If we don't know how to answer, we are just no good. So little by little we become some kind of model machine able-to-answer-to-all-situations with all the necessary blindness as regards its own contradictions. That kind of answering, whose degree of sophistication may sometimes hide from us its conditioned character, is required by our life. But under its dominating necessity, is it possible to keep alive in ourselves our most authentic and precious capacity, which is questioning?”

An interesting self observation is contained within, "J Kirshnamurti: An Experiment" and is well worth your time.

Parasympathetic Empathy
On the delimiting side of this stick, positioned away from an empirical utility, is a perceptual emotion that is transpersonal and for most, must be developed in order to transform this potential into a another sensory organ, one that is positioned between it's organic and inorganic capabilities. One fascinating area for future research is the formation of empathy in children as a precursor to this form of perception. Some are imprinted with this capability by the relationships they define within themselves by defining themselves by observation
There are many others as well. Another example appears in two forms. One is a natural disposition toward animals and on the other end, a reflection of this attribute in the object of empathy the reversal of reception in the capability of animals to anticipate the various human states of their "owners." When one considers the organic instability of the emotional spectrum one may have a reason to expect that the full potential range of this perception cannot be activated as if one is moving one's foot. A lack of recognition toward nuance and subtlety is a bane to research.
However, there is another facet, which is a developed conceptual sense of a trans personal potential and receptivity toward "moving the foot" by a developed set of beliefs which have an emotional component. When receptive emotional empathy is harnessed to a conceptualised model of anticipation defined by a integration of intellectual, emotional and instinctual paradigms, the potential of possibility is perhaps reflected back in a neo quantum event that can be, as Dr Lilly termed,
be "transceived".
Emotional Perceptions of Cellular Memory
On the organic side of this triad, we can see evidence of this organic portion of this relationship by what we we call cellular memory, for lack of a better term. In Nexus Magazine, we can read an online version of a provocative paper entitled 'Organ Transplants and Cellular Memories' which covers cases of "patients who have received transplanted organs, particularly hearts, it is not uncommon for memories, behaviours, preferences and habits associated with the donor to be transferred to the recipient."
Here is the link: http://www.nexusmagazine.com/articles/CellularMemories.html
What is striking in this facet of a phenomenon again is preserving choices based on an individuated set of emotional correlations just as in the example of "emotional perception" which in turn creates a bias..."liking" this or "disliking" that.
Are we referring to a subatomic process? Here we go again. Protons anyone?

Emotional Imprinting On Materiality.
Most of us are familiar with the faint tracings of a phenomenon known as "ghost" activity which appears to be manifested in a locale where extraordinary emotional trauma, such as murder, unexpected death, unresolved conflicts and anger which are often historically connected to events which have anchored as residual memories, as if an associative semi-autonomous set of preserved reactions has been separated as if they were discarded remnants of a processing program called "personality" that is ghosting like a reactive cellular memory, on materiality. The reason I wrote "semi-autonomous" is that they appear to be confined to where they are left. I some spiritual teachings they refer to a discarding of personality as it is defined by an interaction between inner and outer realities.(2) This imprinting certainly is provocative if one considers the traces that can be viewed using infrared imaging equipment.
"Truth is a pathless land'. Man cannot come to it through any organization, through any creed, through any dogma, priest or ritual, not through any philosophic knowledge or psychological technique. He has to find it through the mirror of relationship, through the understanding of the contents of his own mind, through observation and not through intellectual analysis or introspective dissection. Man has built in himself images as a fence of security - religious, political, personal. These manifest as symbols, ideas, beliefs. The burden of these images dominates man's thinking, his relationships and his daily life. These images are the causes of our problems for they divide man from man. His perception of life is shaped by the concepts already established in his mind. The content of his consciousness is his entire existence. This content is common to all humanity. The individuality is the name, the form and superficial culture he acquires from tradition and environment. The uniqueness of man does not lie in the superficial but in complete freedom from the content of his consciousness, which is common to all mankind. So he is not an individual."
-J Kirshnamurti
In the next post on this topic, sympathetic magic, the emotional linkage and wear and tear on "mediums", as well as looking at the "pitch" of emotion; IE: low voice= low energy and our reactions to music are among the facets of this relationship, as well as the study of Chakra theory

(1)THE ELEMENTS OF SUFISM By: Shaykh Fadhlalla Haeri: "We need to distinguish between the two terms: state and station. It is the difference between how it is and where it's at. State means something which one can feel or taste. One can sometimes feel an inner state of incredible generosity or great upliftment. However this state may not be lasting. What is really desired by the seeker is to attain a station which cannot occur unless it is properly founded and secure. A station is not temporary and can always be relied upon and recalled. Most of the wayfarers on the path of God will taste different states to varying degrees of lasting without any permanence in them, which is unsatisfactory and insufficient. It is for this reason that a guiding hand is needed to ensure that a seeker becomes established in a desirable station. So the companionship and relating to people who are on the path is an essential factor in a seeker's progress. Another important reason for having the right companionship is that we are always a product of the last moment, and since this moment is born from the previous moment and that from the one before it, and so on, there is continuity. A person on his own cannot realize how much he has deviated from the path of self-knowledge or self-realization."
(2) There are countless examples wherein the predominate paradigm of "life after death" critically assumes that "personality" is not a process but a discrete entity in of itself and survives death. However, my own thinking is that this is a defacto position in that the vast majority cannot find another more fitting candidate. Terms like "essence" ..potentiality..non local observation..reflect a short hand terminology that substitutes knowledge with place marker which tend to be mistaken and infinitely altered in a flux of meaning and value by one's subjective emotional perception.

Once Upon The Eltanin Object
"What I am saying is that it is not so much what man is that counts as it is what he ventures to make of himself. To make the leap he must do more than disclose himself; he must risk a certain amount of confusion. Then, as soon as he does catch a glimpse of a different kind of life, he needs to find some way of overcoming the paralyzing moment of threat, for this is the instant when he wonders who he really is - whether he is what he just was or is what he is about to be. Adam must have experienced such a moment."
-George Kelly
Once upon a time, the USNS Eltanin, was engineered as an ice breaking cargo ship, while launched and acquired by the US Navy in 1957 as such, it was subsequently reclassified as an Oceanographic Research Vessel for the National Science Foundation in 1962, Notably,it became the world's first Antarctic research ship. Eltamin was conducting a uneventful surveillance sweep off the coast of South America. It was equipped with photographic equipment designed specifically for deep oceanic photography. At a depth of 13,500 feet(4115 metres) at a latitude of 59 degrees 08' south and a longitude of 105 degrees 00'west the crew on the Eitanin photographed an anomalous submerged object.
While organic nature follows a symmetry of form, the symmetrical nature of this object is striking as well as the fact it consists of a central mass, most likely hmade of a metal or some other rigid material, which allows it's vertical positioning above the sea floor for the alignment of an array of seven to eight horizontal extensions of equal length, also apparently rigid, that, in turn position unknown devices akin to protuberances at the end of each.
These objects, one each, at the end of each extension, are apparently intentioned to be positioned roughly 15 degrees from one another.
This object has been termed an artifact when it appears to be more likely, a precision engineered device. To accurately position in location and orientation as well as securely anchor this object, would require the execution of several tasks, each required to complete this installation, at a considerable depth.
It appears a reasonable guess that this is a device intentionally engineered, positioned and secured to provide a utility for it's creators. This, based upon what we do know regarding the visual similarities of terrestrial devices, perhaps the HARP array corresponds to this configuration.
However, on the other hand, the aforementioned engineering of such an object by Great Natures capability to organically materialise such an object, which is also strikingly similar to the object of our interest, is perhaps an apt example of where the study of anomalous objects meets human psychology inasmuch we anticipate according to the bias of our conceptual models as applied to our additive craving to confirm the objects of our desire. However, there is yet another psychological factor in this horse race. Upon noting the similarity of this object it's closest visual match as produced by nature, it was similarly and immediately announced that this similarity was conclusive evidence that, in of itself, "proved" that it was not manufactured. As having a family relation who was a homicide detective in a major city, we intermittently discussed the nature of evidence as applied to the reasonable probability that one of several possibilities of suspects was the correct choice. This is the nature of a line up of suspects who happen to be located in a unreachable marine environment. The deepest diving U.S. submarine, the DSRV Alvin, can descend to 4,500 meters depth.
The "logic" of the intellect when isolated or viewed as the sole required medium to determine material reality is a fallible device. We instinctively, as a remnant of survival behavior, abhor a vacuum in our knowledge. On the other hand, the gift of imagination is a two sided sword as well. While it allows us to envision in the absence of our sensate recognition, it can also be mistaken as much as in the example of the intellect. The paranormal targets and navigates the cartography of this blind spot in our cognition, with precision. We are left huddling around the proverbial campfire. At the onset of odd, unrecognised calls, the unaccountable rustling of the undergrowth, we either discount what we cannot understand or build upon our repertoire of fear. Only a few venture beyond what we can survey with impunity and go forth into the unknown in an exploratory venture of risk. The irony of this is not unknown to those of us who recognise that what the Eltanin photographed is still unidentified, unless we have another methodology, another choice beyond A or B whilst both camps around the fire deride our efforts. They are the less for this. Over the course of time, the subtlety, the nuance, of the unrecognised, the paranormal, the anomalous will glide effortlessly between these two camps, which clutch their preferences as talismans against the affront of simply acknowledging one does not know. The greater irony in this is the potential that the odd sounds, the comings and goings beyond their refuge portend an ill effect upon them. The pathology of control is a unspoken prayer to those who hide in it's guise by professing absolute certainty, as well as those who prefer to imagine that they know. The UFO Theory in politics is uncertainty, as the unexpected turn, the unanticipated twist of fate.
There is no Ufology, what there is are the coagulated remains of an unkept promise to ourselves, that manifests in dime store paperbacks, tabloid antidotes and the cyclic nature of gossip as a science.
Somewhere up there in the stars we observe, there are those who paid a price for their courage and curiosity who look down upon us now, their legacy squandered, their science tarnished and their tenacity misconstrued.
Those of you who have come here to witness my self doubt, my vain attempts to grasp this phenomenon with worn out tools, I am speaking to those of you I know for a fact that have come here to watch, from NASA, U.S Navy Network Communication Center, Emerson Electric,Northrup Grumman Corporation, Shell information Technology,U.S Oceangraphic Command Center,Lockheed Martin, Motorola and Boeing, this is a great entertainment is it not? Why the interest in a speculation upon a Cetacean Humanoid?
Your silence speaks volumes. Oh,I see this morning that Sandia National Laboratories stopped by as well.
You as in a aggregate collection of enormous capabilty, have a greater opportunity than I or my fellows.Standing in stealth, on the sidelines, around the campfire, may be a self comforting form of interest but don't rationalise that others, like myself carry your water in public for their fellow man as a defacto act of concern on your behalf.
If you don't know, say so.If you do know, we are grow old by our swinging in the breeze of your public stance of professed or enforced ambivalence toward the subject at hand.
Perhaps its time we all move on from our respective positions, myself included, as this would provide an
